Following some amazing performances in 2017, a number of Corby swimmers have been recognised and selected for various Swim England Talent Camps based on their GB ranking positions.
At these intensive swim camps, the swimmers will be assessed and coached alongside other like-minded and talented swimmers in order to help them to progress further to the highest levels in the sport.
Talented 11 year olds will attend County Swim Camps with other 11 year olds from across Northamptonshire. Corby are delighted that Sophy Kendall, Miles Starbuck, Oakley Sykes and Sam Cooke have all been invited.
For 12 and 13 year olds, Swim England raise the bar with their selection criteria being based on swimmers being the highest achievers on a Regional basis. Following her medal success at the 2017 Regional Championships, Corby swimmer Libby Evans has been invited to the Regional Swim Camps.
For 14/15 year old swimmers things get even more intense and the criteria for invitation to their camps is based on the English Rankings. Corby swimmers David Gillespie and Archie Evans both performed incredibly well last season with David taking seventh place at the 2017 GB Nationals in the 50m Butterfly for his age group and Archie Evans taking x5 gold medals and x1 silver medal at the 2017 Regional Championships. Both swimmers are looking forward to attending the England Talent Swim Camps.
