Corby hosted their Annual Long Course Open Meet on 25th and 26th March and again it proved to be a big success. Swimmers from 25 teams competed at the fully subscribed event which was held at The East Midland International Pool in Corby.
Corby members enjoyed great success at the meet with many of the clubs swimmers achieving personal best times, reaching the finals and collecting medals.
The meet was a real team effort with a small army of volunteers from Corby, plus a full team of officials from many of the competing clubs all helping in various capacities.
Club Secretary Teresa Evans commented: ‘This was our third open meet but our first two day event and we are delighted with how it all went. We’ve had lots of really positive comments from swimmers, coaches and parents about our meets so it’s really nice to see all the effort appreciated. We have our next meet booked for October this year and then another two for 2018 – we already have clubs waiting for the information packs to be sent out so we are really excited with plenty of ideas for the future!’
