The National Arena Swimming League the UK’s premier team competition, bringing clubs together each autumn and winter to contest fast, team-based gala racing. The 2025 season marks the first time Corby Swimming Club have entered the league in over 10+ years, competing in the East Midlands Division, which features 20 of the region’s top teams battling over three rounds for qualification into the grand final.

Round 1 took place across three simultaneous galas held in Bingham, Peterborough, and Norwich over the weekend of 11 October 2025. Each gala brought together a different mix of clubs from across the region, all aiming to make a strong start in this year’s campaign.

At the Bingham Arena gala, Corby produced a string of superb performances across all age groups to secure first place overall, finishing on 328 points, narrowly ahead of Nottingham Leander on 320 and local rivals Northampton A on 307.

The result was particularly impressive given that Corby were racing against much larger and more experienced clubs, many of whom are long-established in the league and boast extensive competitive depth. Despite this, Corby swimmers showed no sign of nerves, instead delivering polished, determined performances throughout the evening.

Relays proved decisive for Corby, with excellent teamwork delivering the extra points needed in a number of close races. The team’s depth across individual events also paid off, enabling Corby to accumulate points steadily throughout the gala and pull clear at the finish. The result marks an outstanding start to Corby’s Arena League journey, a victory that highlights the club’s growing strength and ambition.

Well done to all of the Corby swimmers, the Club is extremely proud of you and we are looking forward to round 2 which takes place at the Parkside pool in Cambridge on the 8th of November – GO CORBY!
