Corby Swimming Club celebrated another outstanding weekend of racing at the 2025 East Midlands Regional Long Course Championships, held across 5 days in early May. The event brought together the region’s strongest clubs and swimmers for fast and competitive racing, with sessions split between Moorways Sports Village in Derby and Corby East Midlands International Pool. It was especially exciting for the team to compete at their home pool, performing in front of familiar faces and supporters.
A total of 41 Corby swimmers qualified for this year’s championships, the club’s largest regional team to date. Collectively, they produced an incredible 204 heat swims, earning 87 final swims and an impressive 50 medal-winning performances. These results reflect the continued strength and progress of the Corby programme, from developing age-group swimmers through to seasoned regional finalists and National champions.
A special mention goes to the boys 14/16 years relay teams, who delivered some of the standout performances of the meet. The squad claimed gold in both the 4x200m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley relays, and added a superb silver in the 4x100m Freestyle relay — an exceptional achievement in highly competitive fields.
The weekend also highlighted the fantastic support from the club’s coaching and team management staff, whose dedication and guidance helped the swimmers perform at their best throughout the championships.
The entire Corby Swimming Club community can be proud of this tremendous team effort a powerful statement of the club’s growing presence and success across the East Midlands.
