Louis Mitchell underlined Corby Swimming Clubs remarkable improvement by competing in his first GB Nationals at Sheffield,  taking 12th place in the Boys 15 and under 100m freestyle in a new club record time!  He followed this performance alongside his Corby teammates Archie Evans, David Gillespie and Caleb O’Brien as part of the Northamptonshire County Senior Team at the 2017 Inter County Swimming Championships last weekend. All four swimmers setting new personal bests and again reduced the clubs record times.

As a result of current GB rankings brother and sister Archie and Libby Evans have now been selected to attend the East Midland Region Talent camps for 2016/17.
Head Coach Tim Evans commented ‘Corby swimmers really are producing some tremendous performances and climbing the GB Rankings pretty quickly. They do work really hard and we are definitely seeing the results. As a club Corby placed seven junior swimmers onto the County Junior Team this year, plus another four onto the County Senior Team. We also have re-entered the Leicester Swimming League against a host of other local clubs from Northamtonshire and Leicestershire and we won the first round of three by over 90 points. I think that’s a really good indication of the depth of talent that we now have.  2017 should be a really exciting year for the club and we are looking for more success at County, Regional and National level’.

At the recent Corby Sports Awards, Corby Swimming Club won The Club of the Year Award in full recognition of the clubs achievements and its contribution to the town and sport in general.
